Last year, at precisely the same time, I was struck by a drunk and impaired driver while I was commuting to work at 6 a.m. on a Saturday. After a red light, a driver in the middle lane made a sudden right turn into my right lane, despite my clear intention to continue straight. This unexpected turn right me in a state of disbelief, wondering if I should have stopped my car soon or left for work earlier. In that moment, I felt a profound sense of divine intervention in due time. I rarely encountered such a sudden and unannounced lane change without any visual cues or head nods from the other driver. 

I could have lost my life. Days turned into weeks, and I was left with no answers regarding the repairs. I was caught in a battle for insurance coverage, as my car was both totaled and un-totaled depending on whether it was covered by the bodyshop or other drivers’ insurance. It was a spiritual struggle. Insurance companies were cutting corners on repair costs, and the bodyshop demanded specific materials that were being denied for use. 

The accident was a precursor to a closing door that I was struggling to reopen. After weeks of praying, my patience began to wear thin, and my anxiety escalated. However, things started to improve with the repairs, and I was rushing back to the closing door. During this challenging time, God was teaching me valuable lessons and placing angels on my path to provide support. Lonnell Williams’ sermon resonated deeply with me, reminding me of the importance of leaning on God for all things.
